Mr. Ibrahim Ali is a seasoned finance and business leader with over 16 years of progressive experience spanning business strategy, Strategic corporate finance, accounting, cost management, tax planning, ERP implementation, and risk management. Renowned for his ability to align financial operations with global best practices such as IFRS and NGAAP, he has consistently delivered results through cost optimization, working capital efficiency, and innovative fundraising strategies.
He currently serves as the Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of AYM Shafa Holdings Limited, where he oversees the business and financial operations of the group and its subsidiaries. Under his leadership, the company has achieved significant milestones, including a complete restructuring of its financial systems and the transition to internationally recognized, world-class certifications. He is at the forefront of the organization’s diversification drive, playing a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint and positioning it as a top market leader in the Nigerian energy sector and beyond.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Ali served as Executive Director/CFO of AYM Shafa Holdings Limited.
He previously held several key leadership positions at Eterna Plc, a major player in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. As Head of Finance (2018–2020), he directed all finance and accounting functions, ensuring full compliance with local and international regulatory frameworks. From 2015 to 2017, he served as Head of Treasury, where he managed liquidity, investments, and foreign exchange operations, successfully hedging FX risks and securing competitive financing in the capital market. His earlier roles as Senior Financial Accountant and Financial Accountant honed his expertise in reconciliations, transaction management, and internal control frameworks.
Across his career, Mr. Ali has been instrumental in optimizing internal financial controls, streamlining processes, and enhancing liquidity management — consistently driving profitability, operational efficiency, and business sustainability.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), he holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from the University of Lagos and an MBA in Business Administration from the University of East London. Beyond his technical expertise, he is skilled in financial risk assessment, corporate advisory, and implementing integrated financial systems that align with organizational objectives.
